GRATITUDE
We have deep gratitude to our Baker Heights church family for allowing us to minister alongside you for the past seven and one-half years. What joy it has been to be part of your lives, to grow together in God’s love and in our faith to Him, and to experience the joys and challenges of life.
The song “God’s Family” explains the uniqueness of being a church family and what we have experienced at Baker Heights:
“And sometimes we laugh together, Sometimes we cry, Sometimes we share together Heartaches and sighs, Sometimes we dream together of how it will be, When we all get to heaven God’s family.”
REMEMBERING
When we look back at the years we have been together, there have been so many changes; people have come and gone, people chose to follow Christ and were baptized, babies have been born, many loved ones have passed into the next life, and our way of life was disrupted by Covid. There has been a steady number of activities; there were many celebrations, chili cookoffs were won (and lost), many meals have been shared together, and most of all many bible studies have taken place and sermons have been preached. We have grown as a family together through all of it. All of you have influenced us in your own ways as we journeyed together.
Thank you for accepting us into your family and allowing us to be part of your journey with God. We are grateful that we can continue learning, growing, and serving together though our “official” capacity may have changed.
MARVELING
We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love through words, gifts, and participation in the celebrations for Larry’s retirement. We are still marveling at all that has transpired in the last few weeks. We love you deeply and will always look to our time at Baker Heights in full-time ministry as guided and led by God and a meaningful time for us.
May we continue to “hold to God’s unchanging hand” and
“May the God of hope full you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
