Making the Most of Every Opportunity
On receiving the progress in a congregation of God’s people, a faithful deacon observed, “There is no time to let up.” He thus stated a Biblical command:“Be ready in season and out of season,” (2 Timothy 4:2). In another place the scripture pleads, “Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity,” (Colossians 4:5).
By making the most of our opportunities, the more we shall have. With persistent faith these doors shall open.
Walking in Wisdom
Thus, we walk in wisdom. Worshiping in the assemblies, filling our mental storehouse with spiritual food, having private devotion with the Father, doing good in spite of our busy schedules, and spreading the truth whenever possible open the doors of great possibilities. When we, through our daily living and teaching, show the world something greater that it has, we are using our opportunities.
“And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of faith,” (Galatians 6:9-10).
