This is part of a daily devotion written by David Maxson from the Northwood Church of Christ. The reason I chose this is that it closely mirrors what I have always said about our body of believers here at Baker Heights. That is this: there is no place I’d rather be than here with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Nothing compares to the joy and happiness I feel when I am here.
Blessings of Being Together
There are so many blessings we receive by being together:
- Encouragement/ lifting up one another
- Parents sharing their faith with their children
- Husbands and wives growing closer together
- Serving one another
The greatest blessing we have is communion with our Father. A small foretaste of how it will be when we are all together with Him!
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”

As much as I enjoy being here and worshiping at Baker Heights, I am thankful for Mr. Maxson reminding me that there is a better place than this in our future!
