The Fruit of the Spirit
Consider the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
What’s Your Preference?
Would you prefer to live in a world filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control? Or would you prefer to live in a world filled with hate, sadness, war, defiance, immorality, evil, treachery, rudeness, and overindulgence?
Those that live in the world of the Spirit of Christ Jesus choose to live in a world of love, regardless of the circumstances they may find themselves in.
Why would the majority of humans choose hate over love?
It is because that is human nature. Left unchecked, our selfishness leads us to follow a path of self-destruction. If a human were God, he would insist that all of his creation follow him, but the real creator God gives man the opportunity to choose.
It’s A Choice
God wants us to follow his will, but He does not force us to comply. Christians choose to embrace the fruit of the Spirit because they believe in a better world than the one into which they are born. They call that world heaven. Living a life filled with the spiritual fruit gets us as close as we can get to heaven on Earth. Every day in every way, at all times, choose Jesus.
