Thank You!
Pam and I wanted to thank our Baker Heights family for the encouraging cards and the holiday treats we received in the past weeks. You all are so special!
We are happy to be part of this great family! If you are like me, you have spent the past days or even weeks devouring all those goodies that typically come with the holiday season. I can’t say how many ginger-bread men, sugar cookies, or other Christmas-themed goodies I have eaten. There seem to be any number of shapes for holiday cookies.
The German Christmas Market
One memory I have of strolling through the German Christmas market each year, was walking by the booth that sold cookie cutters. One booth sold exclusively cookie cutters. They had every shape you could ever imagine, and many that I would never have dreamed of. I was kind of partial to the music shapes, such as notes, or treble clefs.
In Every Shape
Reflecting on those shapes made me think of all the different shapes that God used when he made us. We are all so different! We all have different shapes and looks, as well as different gifts and abilities. That is what makes the body of Christ so wonderfully unique! In all our uniqueness, however, we work together as one body to bring glory to the one God who made us and to the one Lord who leads this family.
As we enter into a new year together as the family of God that meets at Baker Heights, let’s all commit ourselves to working together, using all the unique tools God has given us! “. . . so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:5
