I was searching through children’s songs the other day to try and find one to sing at Kid’s Time that would fit the lesson that Sam was going to preach that morning. I was taken back by some of these simple truths a lot of these songs teach, and I can’t help but think how much better our lives would be if we just remembered some of the truths we sang about when we were children.
“My God is so big, so strong and so mighty there’s nothing my God cannot do.”
“This little light of mine; I am going let it shine.”
“The B-I-B-L-E, yes that’s the book for me.”
“If you’re happy and you know it then your life will surely show it.”
“For the Father up above is looking down in love, so be careful, little eyes, what you see.”
“I know that Jesus is well and alive today.”
“They are precious in His sight.”
“The wise man built his house upon the Rock.”
“Who’s the King of the universe and who’s the king of me? Jesus!”
“Jesus loves me. This I know for the bible tells me so.”
I know these are simple lines from songs written for kids, but the words are very powerful. We could all stand to be reminded of the truth and ask ourselves if we are living our lives in reflection of them.
