Two men were walking through a field one day when they spotted an enraged bull. Instantly they darted toward the nearest fence. The storming bull followed in hot pursuit, and it was soon apparent they wouldn’t make it. Terrified, the one shouted to the other, “Put up a prayer, John. We’re in for it!” John answered, “I can’t. I’ve never made a public prayer in my life.” “But you must!” implored his companion. “The bull is catching up to us.” “All right,” panted John, “I’ll say the only prayer I know, the one my father used to repeat at the table: ’O Lord, for what we are about to receive, make us truly thankful.’”
We Laugh About It! But seriously, how important is prayer to us? We have all seen the results of powerful prayer. But is prayer only reserved for dangerous times? …. for times of last resort?
Asking for Prayer Warriors
On Facebook, many folks ask for prayer warriors for a variety of needs. According to the dictionary, a warrior is a person specializing in combat or warfare. Well, we certainly are in combat against Satan. It’s obvious that we are in the toughest battle of all…. And we MUST be praying to the Father constantly –For His strength-His guidance—His deliverance.
Pray Without Ceasing
When Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, “Pray without Ceasing” … we learn that prayer is for all times. Church, may God help us to put prayer on the “front burner” and not the “back burner.” May Prayer be a vital part of our life…. especially in the difficult times in our country. We must be Prayer Warriors!
