Return to the Garden

Many years ago, an idyllic garden spread out before the first people on earth. God gave them plants, trees, herbs, and animals of every kind, as resources to them. Life thrived, and nothing died. The Garden of Eden is literally the only paradise earth has ever had. But sin shattered the bliss.

The Tragic Day

One tragic day, the Devil tempted Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which God warned them, “in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Gen 2:17). Despite His words, they ate the fruit and death entered the world. The plague of sin attached itself to mankind and continues to reign in the world of men, “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned…death reigned” (Rom 5:12-14).

Now all men and women suffer the wage of sin—death (Rom 6:23). Death knows no boundaries. It visits poor and rich, men and women, sick and healthy. It doesn’t count money, see color, or watch the clock. Death comes to all because all have sinned.

The Cure

There is a cure, but it doesn’t come from an ancient herb or a secret flower. A lab didn’t develop it, nor was it discovered by accident. God intentionally created and provided it; it is his blood. Through his sacrifice, everyone can stop the grip of death. They can return to the splendor of the Garden.

Christians have found their way back to Eden, but people still searching for it surround them. Christians are called to share God’s grace and peace throughout their communities. May God help every Christian find their voice and lead the world back to the Garden.
