Tonight, during class time our youth will get the opportunity to display some of the events they have been working on for Leadership Training for Christ, or LTC. I hope that you will come and support our youth. This year on April the 18th, we will take close to 20 youth to a convention at the Anatole in Dallas with over 2,500 other youth.

The purpose of LTC is to plan, organize, promote, and execute programs that assist young Christians to develop their knowledge of the Bible and biblical principles, enhance their communication and leadership skills, and orient their energies and abilities to areas of Christian service. Although I love seeing them come up to the building for months and spend time together and the convention is always fun, my favorite part is seeing young people use their skills throughout the year. When we are at camp, devotionals, communion to shut-ins, bible bowl, and University Place, our young people step up leading songs, giving lessons, and reaching out to others in the name of Christ. This is where we see the full goal of LTC play out.
Encouraging Our Kids
Baker Heights has a history of encouraging our kids to be active members of Christ’s Church. We strive to teach them God’s word and provide opportunities to put those lessons into action. We are told in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Let us continue to try and find ways to encourage our youth.
